365 Days of Writing – Day 12: Personality Types

Posted on: January 15, 2017

About a year ago I took the Meyers Briggs personality test. A guy who wanted to date me insisted I take the test before he would consider going out with me, because he was only interested in certain personality types. As off putting as his request was at first, it made me curious, so I took the test. The Meyers Briggs breaks people out into 16 different personality types, all based on how you perceive and judge things in life.

After taking the test and learning my personality type (ENFP), I learned a lot about myself. What I found most intriguing though was that my personality type was best matched with introverted personality types in life. As someone who has never had patience, and never aspired to have patience… this was a game changer for me. Suddenly I realized my impatience in relationships was the exact reason I’ve never had lasting love in my life. I’ve never had the patience required to get to know the introverted men who are best suited for me. Basically I have spent a lifetime scaring away the men who I’m most likely to love. Realizing this has been a game changer for me in life.

I have learned a great deal about myself from studying my Meyers Briggs, and I think it’s an incredible tool that everyone should use to understand themselves. To take the test you can click here. After you find out your personality type I recommend going to this site to research it further. I recommend not only learning about yourself but also about the personalities that you are best matched with. It is truly eye opening.

That’s all I’ve got today, happy researching folks!
